Every year on October 10th, the global community comes together to observe World Mental Health Day. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues and mobilising efforts to support mental well-being. As someone who has recently become an MBCBT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) qualified practitioner and has grappled with my own mental health challenges in the past, I find it even more crucial to reflect on the importance of mental health, the challenges many face, and the collective steps we can take to make a difference.

The Importance of Mental Health

Mental health is an integral part of our overall well-being. Just as we care for our physical health — through regular check-ups, a balanced diet, and exercise — our mental health requires attention and care. Mental well-being impacts our thoughts, emotions, and actions. It determines how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.
